We believe that every writer deserves a writing group in which they can receive feedback, lean on their writing people, and grow. We know that one of the struggles we face as writers is not having anyone to share it with. We also know that writing resources such as classes, retreats, developmental mentorship, etc can be quite pricey, and, let’s face it, when you’re trying to make it as a writer, you might not have all of that cash. That’s why we created Fineline, a place that pushes you to write, introduces you to fellow writers, and allows you to connect with writing professionals (without costing you a fortune).
We all write alone but that doesn’t mean writing should be lonely 😊

I’m Iman M’Fah-Traoré, founder of Fineline
I’m a writer writer just like you who has taken her fair share of writing classes. I’ve always loved the flow that being in a course put me in. For the duration of the course, I’d write and write, get invaluable feedback, and then, pouf, it was over. I would be left with a sense of emptiness, who would read and comment on my work now?
After creating a few groups that didn’t pan for various reasons, I was finally lucky enough to find my current writing group to gift me the consistency, familiarity, and ongoing passion it takes to keep writing. Having a writing group has helped me evolve as a writer tremendously.
Since forming my writing group, I have gotten multiple pieces picked up in literary magazines, a few picked up in traditional publications, and have half of my memoir completed. My group is more than people who read and give me feedback, in time they became good friends who know me and who I can workshop ideas with.
I wouldn’t be the writer I am today without my writing group which is why I decided to create Fineline, a place, where you too can meet YOUR WRITING PEOPLE.
More about me if you want to know
I’m a French-born New Yorker who recently moved to Ericeira, a quaint coastal Portuguese town with my partner and our two surf boards (I’m actually more of a yogi but that didn’t sound as good). Having grown up multicultural in two families stretched across two continents, thematically I ground myself in the sense of belonging. I also explore addiction, queerness, grief, and relationship dynamics. I have been featured in a literary magazines such as Mania Mag, Bending Genres, PapersPublishing, and NeverApart. I’ve also written for Babe by Hatch and Insider.
